Sleepy called today. I knew something was wrong as soon as I picked up the phone.

She started crying almost immediately.

Now I KNOW I'm not just being overly worrisome.

But hasn't Heather been telling me this all along?

I know her, and I know her pride. I hate that I can't DO anything. I can't fix this. I can't just be me, and make it all better.

And yet she called me. Out of the blue.

Which tells me that she needs help.
