Flowcharting--It ain't rocket science!

My programming instructor repeats herself entirely too much. What's more: she likes to pretend her students are a bunch of high-schoolers.

My philosophy is if a college student wishes to quietly gossip with the person next to them during the entire class time, then they should be allowed to do so. Afterall, they will be the ones to fail--thus, end up wasting the $1000.00 they paid for the class.

Not that I gossip, or even talk--except to ask questions. But apparently a guy named Patrick likes to talk it up with someone who sits beside him (and they sit on the far side of the room, mind you), because everyday the instructor will stop in the middle of her lecture and say things like, "Patrick, please move to the row behind you," or "Patrick, if you don't want to listen to me, then you shouldn't be in this class," "or Patrick, you're going to have to be quiet."

NOTE: No one but her can hear Patrick, therefore Patrick is not necessarily disturbing the class--she is, by constantly stopping what she's doing to repremand Patrick. Apparently, she really likes to hear herself talking...either that or she can't concentrate for shit.

I have *never* heard a professor stop their lecture more than once to scold a student. Usually, they gracefully talk over it and then *professionally* wait until the end of the lecture to have words with the person. Whining about it in the middle of a lecture isn't very becoming of someone who is teaching in the field of higher education.

As for her repeating herself constantly...you'd think she was teaching kindergarden. Everybody knows what a freaking flowchart is. It's a bunch of symbols with words and lines that "flow" in an particular order. And if you state that an "A" connector must be related elsewhere in the chart with another corresponding "A" connector, anyone with half a brain would get it. Do you really need to repeat it constantly?

It's like she's tossing around a bunch of fluff to fill class time. Heaven forbid she actually let us work on labs or something so that we can get *hands on* experience!

Nay! She wouldn't be able to hear herself TALKING then!

We certainly wouldn't want that, now would we?
